Students in Intro to Visual Art have reached the stage of having finished, gallery-ready paintings. The eye-candy photos below feature installation shots of selected paintings in the Annex gallery. The paintings encompass a range of projects and approaches including typography paintings and abstract color/shape explorations.
They learned a variety of painting techniques including glazing, painting with a palette knife, impasto and watercolor-esque techniques.
With regards to lettering, students looked at artists like Jessica Hische and Seb Lester. They learned about calligraphic lines, ligatures and swashes.
It’s awesome to see these students grow in confidence as their creativity blossoms.
