Visiting Artist Lecture and Experimental Drawing Workshop

During this past week, ART 107 had the opportunity to have visiting artist Rachel Baxter in class to give a lecture and experimental drawing workshop. Rachel received her MFA degree from Indiana University and lives and works in Albany, NY where she teaches relief and silk screen at the Art Center in Troy, NY. She will also be teaching Lithography at the College of Saint Rose in Albany in Fall 2015. Rachel brought original drawings and prints that were displayed at the Annex Gallery. After her artist talk, Rachel met with the students in the gallery space to further discuss the process and content of the work. During the workshop, students learned how to draw with fire, ink, and wax to create abstract drawings.
