Course Menu Gotcha

Since the switch over to the new Blackboard interface, a few people have had problems with things “disappearing” in some of the home pages for their courses. Frequently, the only problem is that their course menu has been mistakenly closed. This leaves only one page that displays (Announcements or Content). The above image is the course menu. Note the highlighted button. This is the “Hide Course Menu” button. If you (accidentally) click this button, the entire left pane (e.g., content, information, groups, etc.) disappears and leaves a single, less-than-obvious button. The only way to reopen the course menu is by tracking down the tiny little button on the left side of a course’s home page (image below).
