Welcome, Butler University Class of 2016!<\/h1>\n

You, the class of 2016, will be our largest class in HISTORY! We are excited about your decision to be part of the Butler community and are committed to making your college transition a smooth one. On this site you\u2019ll find many resources to help in that effort. So, bookmark this page and check back often as we will continue to add new information throughout the summer.<\/p>\n

Welcome Week<\/h3>

During Welcome Week, students and parents will have the opportunity to interact with current students, faculty and staff to begin navigating their journey at Butler University. Welcome Week is an exciting and interactive time that allows students to meet new friends, connect with faculty and staff, learn about campus resources, and get acclimated to campus.<\/p>\n

Our goals for Welcome Week are to help you make a smooth transition to college life, prepare students for the educational opportunities that are available, and introduce students to all aspects of our campus community. To accomplish this, a variety of events have been planned for students. We encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities to meet new people, prepare for the start of the year and explore the wide variety of ways to be engaged with your new community.
\nTo help us reach these goals, we have Student Orientation Guides (SOG) that help mentor you during Welcome Week and beyond. This is an energized, committed group of returning students that support you. You will first formally meet with your SOGs on Sunday, August 19th during the orientation group meetings. Assignments for these groups will be given at the Resource Fair<\/a> on Saturday, August 18th.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Faculty Orientation Guides (FOG) are faculty members who work with SOG to help familiarize you with Butler and build an understanding of what the college experience will be like. Butler staff members are on-hand throughout Welcome Week to answer any question and solve issues that may arise.<\/p>\n

Please note, the first required meeting for residence hall students will be Saturday, August 18th at 8 pm.
