The Butler Bulldogs (8-10, 0-7 Big East) visited the Xavier Musketeers (1-16, 0-7 Big East) at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio on Wednesday Night. BU dominated in a 90 to 57 victory.
The Bulldogs had four players in double figures led by Caroline Strande who scored a career-high 26 points on 10 for 15 from the field and 3 of 6 from the three point line. Strande also added 10 rebounds and 6 assists to record her first double-double of the season. Riley Makalusky added 19 Points, Sydney Jaynes had 14 points and Rachel Kent scored 12 Points. The Bulldogs shot 62.3 percent from the field.
The Musketeers were led by Mackayla Scarlett who had 18 Points in the game. The Bulldogs used a 28 to 8 second quarter run to pull ahead of the Musketeers and led 49 to 23 at the break, and never looked back en route to a Bulldog win.
Next up for the Bulldogs they head to Milwaukee to face off against the Marquette Golden Eagles (15-4, 4-4 in Big East) at 5 P.M./4 P.M. CT on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on the Big East Digital Network on FloHoops.com.
