PHOENIX – The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will meet in Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, 2023 in the final game of the 2022-23 NFL season.

The NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles finished their season 14-3, winning the NFC East division title and clinching a first-round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Eagles earned their Super Bowl berth by crushing the New York Giants in the Divisional Round and the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.

Led by linebacker Haason Reddick and their swarming defense, the Eagles will look to make life miserable for opposing quarterbacks. Their pass rush is backed up by a talented secondary featuring standout corners Darius Slay, Jr. and James Bradberry IV. On offense, the Eagles feature a potent rushing attack headlined by quarterback Jalen Hurts and running backs Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell. Their passing game proves to be a problem as well, as Hurts frequently finds open receivers in DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown, and Dallas Goedert. Philadelphia will look to earn their second Super Bowl victory since 2017.

The AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs also finished their season 14-3, capturing their seventh consecutive AFC West title. Kansas City also held a first-round bye and home field advantage, defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Divisional Round and the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship.

The focal point of the Kansas City Chiefs runs through star quarterback Patrick Mahomes II. Mahomes, regarded as the best quarterback in football right now, was named 2022 AP NFL Most Valuable Player at the NFL Honors Awards. This year’s MVP is Mahomes’ second of his career. Despite trading electrifying wide receiver Tyreek Hill to Miami in the offseason, Mahomes still engineers the NFL’s top scoring offense. Mahomes can look downfield to wide receivers Juju Smith-Schuster and Marques Valdez-Scantling or toss it to All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce. Although the Chiefs’ defense does not have as much starpower, All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones leads a unit that can hold its own when it needs to. The braintrust of the Kansas City machine is future Hall of Fame head coach Andy Reid, who can scheme up any number of gameplans for his squad. Super Bowl LVII is Kansas City’s third Super Bowl appearance in the past four seasons, and they will look to win their second Lombardi in that same time span.
