{"id":2855,"date":"2019-02-19T19:10:14","date_gmt":"2019-02-20T00:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/butler360\/?p=2855"},"modified":"2019-02-26T13:31:14","modified_gmt":"2019-02-26T18:31:14","slug":"butler-mens-tennis-beats-university-of-indianapolis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/butler360\/2019\/02\/19\/butler-mens-tennis-beats-university-of-indianapolis\/","title":{"rendered":"Butler men&#8217;s tennis beats University of Indianapolis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The Butler men\u2019s tennis team beat the University of Indianapolis 5-2 on Feb. 18.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Indianapolis was nationally ranked in the top 25 programs in Division II coming into the match.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Butler began the match by securing the doubles point and taking a 1-0 lead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The combination of Adrian Mag and Aviv Ben Shabat came out victorious, as did the combination of Thomas Brennan and Spencer Lang. Mag and Shabat surrendered only one game in their win.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Mason Dragos and Ryan Roegner lost their doubles matchup, but it proved inconsequential in the best-of-three format.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Butler won four of the six singles matchups as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Dragos in the No. 1 spot, Brennan in the No. 2, Mag in the No. 5 and Lang in the No. 6 all came out on top. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Dragos and Brennan each needed three sets to do so. The third set \u2013 and thus, the point \u2013 in Dragos\u2019s matchup came down to the final game, with Dragos winning the set 7-6.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Mag\u2019s singles performance stood out, only surrendering one game in the entirety of his matchup.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The Bulldogs are now 7-4 on the season and are back in action on Feb.23 at Northern Illinois.<\/span><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Butler men\u2019s tennis team beat the University of Indianapolis 5-2 on Feb. 18.
