The Butler Bulldogs bring in four new coaches for 2023 baseball season. The team parted ways with Dave Schrage and hired Blake Beemer as his successor in June of 2022. Beemer is a young head coach with only being 31 years old. He recently coached at Ball state before accepting the head coaching job. The Bulldogs also had Ross Learnard as their pitching coach. Learnard comes from Purdue and was also a two time all American while playing there. To round out the coaching staff the Bulldogs also hired assistant coach Blayden Bales who was with Beemer at Ball State and Dan Wilcher who recently coached at Iowa western junior college. This a young core coaches for college baseball. They very well may be the youngest coaching staff in all of college baseball. However, with that there is no lack of energy with these guys. They bring energy every day and try to project that to the team. Beemer has arguably set up the hardest schedule the team has ever seen. Highlighted by playing the number one team in the nation LSU. The Bulldogs will be battle tested by the time conference rolls around that was Beemer\u2019s goal heading into the season. He wanted to play the best to prepare for conference.

The bulldogs have a good core of players coming back to help this team. Led by a handful of seniors on both sides of the ball will be key for the bulldogs. The bulldogs return some key arms to help propel them on the pitching side this year. Beemer has also brought in some key transfers to potentially help the bulldogs evaluate to another level. The bulldogs are coming off a rough season last year and hope to change things around quickly.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
