Indianapolis, IN \u2013 As the excitement builds for Super Bowl Weekend, students at Butler University are buzzing with anticipation and making plans for the big game. The campus is abuzz with discussions about parties, gatherings, and the inevitable clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the big game just around the corner, I had the opportunity to speak with several students to get a glimpse into their plans for the highly anticipated weekend. From dorm rooms to local hangout spots, it\u2019s clear that the enthusiasm for the highly-anticipated event is palpable.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m having a huge watch party with the rest of my fraternity brothers,\u201d said Riley McEachern a junior majoring in Finance and Risk Management. \u201cWe\u2019ve got the snacks and drinks, and we\u2019re going to order some food, it\u2019s going to be a great time!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

For many students, Super Bowl Sunday is more than just a football game; it\u2019s a time to come together with friends and enjoy the excitement surrounding the event. Logan Bain, a junior majoring in Sports Media, expressed his enthusiasm for the weekend ahead. \u201cI\u2019m driving down to Mardi Gras to tailgate for the Super Bowl with a couple of buddies\u201d, said Bain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Butler Bulldogs are known for their tight-knit community, and the Super Bowl provides the perfect opportunity for like-minded students to come together. Kyle Rohn, a Senior Sports media major, and Jason Storms, a Junior Sports Media major, both mentioned that they are not planning on doing much for the game this year, \u201cWe\u2019re not doing much, our teams are not in the Super Bowl this year, we\u2019re just hoping to watch the Chiefs get beat,\u201d said Rohn and Storms.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, it\u2019s not just about the game itself. Students are also gearing up for this year\u2019s halftime show featuring one of the biggest artists in the industry Usher. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to the halftime show,\u201d said Matthew Hafele a senior studying Marketing. \u201cI\u2019m planning on hanging out with my roommates and watching the game. I think everyone is going to make their own Superbowl snacks and bring them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

However, amidst the excitement, some students are taking a more low-key approach to the weekend, acknowledging the importance of balancing fun with academics, especially with the rigorous academia here at Butler University.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, it\u2019s clear that Super Bowl weekend holds a special place in the hearts of Butler University Students. Whether they\u2019re watching the game with friends, enjoying the halftime show, or simply indulging in delicious snacks, the weekend promises to be an unforgettable experience for all.
