Bethanie and I are honored to move into the historic Carter House at 525 Blue Ridge. We're grateful for the renovations completed by our talented Butler staff and look forward to hosting members of the Butler community on many occasions. Enjoy pictures from move-in day on July 30, 2011.

The 2011 State of the University Address is available for review in video format. In this address, I talked about creating a culture, or the presumption, of “yes.” I want our students, faculty, and staff to dream, to try new things, to take a chance. We need to be able to say yes to launch ideas — even if sometimes they don’t succeed.

Welcome…

As the new president of Butler University, I am often asked about my goals. One of them is simple: to listen very carefully to your ideas, suggestions, and concerns, and to thereby better understand what our University is capable of achieving in the years to come.  I hope you will view this blog—and the observations I share within it—as a way for me to convey  the wonderful things happening on our campus, and as a way to foster a dynamic conversation in which you will take part. Thank you for reading and for sharing your feedback.

Comments posted to the blog will be monitored by Butler’s University Relations department. Comments that are considered rude, offensive, or threatening will likely not be shared with President Danko. While blog comments will not appear on the blog, President Danko may choose to respond to comments in posts when appropriate. Comments that are best addressed privately will be done so using the email address provided by the commenter. For additional information regarding blog comments, please visit the feedback page
