About Butler and this Blog
About Butler

The Blog
I am committed to engaging the Butler community in key strategic issues that we confront. As such, I want to provide you with observations and updates on important topics and to hear your thoughts in return. In my “State of the University” address in August, I talked about creating a culture, or the presumption, of “yes.” I want our students, faculty, and staff to dream, to try new things, to take a chance. We need to be able to say yes to launch ideas — even if sometimes they don’t succeed. This kind of culture is built upon open, dynamic dialogue among community members, which can take place within many contexts—including this blog. Thank you for reading and for your participation.
Social Networking
In addition to blogging, I look forward to connecting with you on such social networks as Twitter and Flickr. Both accounts are seamlessly integrated into this blog and the search term “ButlerPrez” will yield additional social networking content by way of your desired search engine. Finally, don’t forget to visit Butler’s social networking site to view a menu of University-affiliated accounts.
