About the Author
Brief Biography
My name is Colin Likas and I’m a junior journalism major at Butler University in Indianapolis. I am originally from Crown Point, Indiana, which lies about two hours north of Indy. My immediate family consists of my father Steve, my mother Melissa, my 17-year old sister Kyleen and my dog Murphy.
College Education
As I said above, I am in my third year at Butler University. I am just completing my fifth semester in the College of Communication. I have greatly enjoyed my time at Butler and anticipate graduating in 2014.
Activities
I am not really a member of any non-work organizations on campus. One class that acts more like an on-campus organization than a class, in my opinion, is the Bulldog Blitz. The Blitz is a weekly show produced by Butler students with the assistance of two faculty members. The show covers Butler sports and often has guests in the form of Butler athletes and coaches.
Work
I have worked for the school’s student newspaper, The Butler Collegian, for all five of my semesters on campus. I am currently the managing editor of the newspaper. I have also worked as an intern at the National Federation of State High School Associations. I was a publications intern and wrote stories for the organization’s monthly magazine.
