The experience and information I have gained and learned from this class has given me confidence going forward professionally and individually…There is no substitute for experience, and I now have more of it than an average person looking for a job. As an individual, I found that the class was good about teaching what was really needed in order to be successful in the real world. – Tony A

The class was like riding a bike with training wheels, our business being the bike, and the professors and mentors being the supportive training wheels along the way.  Through the process I learned a lot about myself and other group members and ideas for my professional and career development.  -Will

I found myself not as an accounting major, but as a businessman. I had to know what went into marketing, finance, and operations. The knowledge I learned in these departments could not be learned in a classroom. I found experiential learning in RBE that was truly beneficial. -Ethan

The key lesson that I obtained from Real Business Experience course was from the team meetings of developing a strategy to succeed as a business. Through RBE, I learned that the key to successfully run everything is team dynamics. My team and I had to have several meetings held in order to come up with a plan on how to properly execute our plan and how we can explain it to the class. We had to put our thoughts together on how we could market our business. My team and I had to learn our strengths and weaknesses of our business in order to develop a plan that would only epitomize our strengths. Real Business Experience taught me the true aspect of teamwork.-Pukhrajjeet Chhokar

The difference is clear between normal group work and that of the RBE program. Running and operating a real business is not an easy task, and the RBE program is here to proudly present us with the challenge. Developing a creative idea is the first task, but carrying through with this idea is the goal. This goal is rather daunting and, in my opinion, only achievable with  great team relationships. As a team we worked fluently and efficiently in identifying our strengths and weaknesses within the team. This strategy led to great success, stronger relationships, and a truly positive experience in and out of the classroom. -Chris

One of the main reasons I chose to attend Butler University and more specifically the College of Business was the Real Business Experience program.  Being a part of a real business that worked to gain real profit seemed very unique at the time.  Now I can say, after going through the RBE process, it has met my expectations.  Besides meeting my expectations, the RBE program has helped me develop, over the last semester, into a more professional and well-rounded businessman.  I have gained insight to the real aspects of a business as well as being an entrepreneur.  -Drew Talkington
