For the professional and career side of my takeaways from RBE, I definitely need to cite my development in working in a group full of eager and competitive students.  I truly believe that this semester gave me such an incredible experience for the real business world is like in terms of group decision-making.  It can often be an extremely painful process, yet it is something that has to be done by all businesses across the world.  There are no short-cuts or side steps that can be taken to avoid hurdles when they arise within the business.  The group needs to talk through the problem logically and explore every idea that is generated before coming to a conclusion.  Though the process if far more elaborate than simply having one person make a decision, the company will make much better and more effective decisions in the long run if everybody’s voice is heard prior to making such decisions.  I believe that I will be very prepared for dealing with tasks that arise in the professional business world because of my experiences in RBE this past semester.  Had I not taken the course, I would have been completely blind-sided by this inevitability as soon as I put in the situation in the business world.  I am extremely happy about my takeaways from RBE this semester and am extremely confident that my development will serve me well through my professional career.

The Real Business Experience has taught me a lot over the
last few months.  I have taken a lot away from the class, probably more than any other class I have taken during my time at Butler.  Whether it has been working in a team setting, dealing with paperwork, creating a financial forecast, or trying to get a loan from a finance board, there has always been something to learn from it. I think that some of the most important things I have taken away
have been learning how to work in a group setting, learning how to creating a financial forecast, and improving my conflict resolution skills.

Real Business Experience is a class that helped me develop many skills for the real business world.  Throughout the experience, I had developed skills necessary to help my group with our student business, Environuts.  Some of the skills that I took away from the class included the overall aspects of running a student business, communication with your partners, sales strategies, marketability of our product, financial responsibility and the importance of having experience in the work field.  These essentials really helped shape my personal development in the business world.                                                                                                   – Dan Michaels

At the beginning of the semester I was not excited to take RBE 201; however, now that the semester is over I am so happy I was able to have the experience and look forward to going on to RBE 202. RBE allowed me to grow into a better person who was more capable of working with teams and become more gender neutral about the people I am working with. RBE also had some incredible readings that taught me many things about working within a company and being a boss. The course also taught me new skills related to sales and teamwork. RBE helped me to grow in both a personal and educational sense and what I have learned from the course is invaluable.
