NEON BUBBLES
by EMILY
I want to go into space
& brush the surface
of the stars.
I want to turn from the
sun & feel the absence
of light.
I want to pop neon bubbles
through my double-
coated eyes.
I want to sell dirt as
first-class soil.
I want to wear stripes
like they are polka dots.
I want to banish pink
stones from my life because they
always seem to lie.
I want to chase shadows
& no longer be in control.
I want to kill time
with an awesome Japanese sword.
I want to predict the
past & remember the
future.
PIECES OF THE PUZZLE
by JAMMONICA
Love can be mysterious, but our souls can’t always be healed by the ones we’ve been truly hurt by or truly loved. But being in love can be the best way to find unsolved pieces of the puzzle. The other side of the muzzle. Love is a poison, you shake it up and your heart goes like a carousel round and round. A cotton candy heart. Love can be a roller coaster, my friend. Ups and downs are nothing but a roller coaster.
LOVE POEM
by TAYLOR
I love neon lights
And things that shine bright.
I love how stars sparkle
in the dark night sky.
I love rainbows and
trampolines.
I love when people dream
big dreams.
I love the fiery red color
when a volcano erupts.
I love life itself.
I love this beautiful home
that we call earth.
I love bright pretty colors
I love when people are friendly with each other.
I love planetariums
and how they teach me great things.
I love my mom and my sisters
I love knowing that they will do anything to make me happy.
I love positive energy
and being original.
As you see, I love many
things, small or large.
I guess you can call me the love bug of love.
WHEN IN ROME
by EMILY
Me & a group of gummy bears
riding on a train to hell,
walking up to Satan’s door &
fighting over who rings the bell.
We all pull down our pants &
yell for him to kiss it.
He looks at us, confused, as
we make ourselves at home.
We’re heading here anyway,
so, as they say, “When in Rome.”
He yells for us to leave, but
we’re not going anywhere.
Feet up, champagne popped,
we honestly don’t care.
“Our time is now,” we say. “So leave
or you will die!”
He huffs at us right before the
gummy bears rip out his eyes.
“We’re taking over & there isn’t
a thing you can do. So surrender now &
we might not kill you,” they say.
Of course, where I’m from
we lie, we would have said he fell.
But there’s no need for that,
because we’re in hell.
SHATTER ME
by JADON
I can’t fathom how much I feel.
Like trying to measure electricity in an eel.
Broken and tormented I am.
Subjected to the big force.
Tattered and alone as a ragdoll.
Pour salt into the wounds why don’t you,
Make them gape even wider.
Words like venom from a lethal spider.
Sticks and stones don’t break those bones,
Only phrases and irony.
Silhouetted against the walls,
Stalking to and fro down the halls,
I embrace the blessing of shadows
Because friends like them ¬¬¬alleviate sorrow.
And then the lights began to flash.
Smoke turned to ash.
No longer apart of the fragmented past
A feeling that only you could make last.
I love you.
With you I don’t have to walk on cue.
With you I don’t bathe in rue.
With you nothing else matters,
But without you I will surely shatter.
Drown me in your light, mistress of the night,
Only you can bring an end to the bright.
It’s cold in here, necrotic and damp.
