\ngoldfish went to heaven
\nand not to the sewer system’s
\npipeline
\nWhen, being home didn’t seem
\nlike a chore
\nWhen doing chores was expected
\nand you never knew what a
\nwhore was.
\nThere comes a time in every
\nadolescent’s life
\nWhen they hear the truth
\nabout Santa Claus
\nWhen they lie awake
\nand can’t sleep due to
\nthe yelling in the next room
\nWhen claws are gnawing at
\nyour insides, trying to decide if
\none drink will hurt them
\nIf on night is too long,
\ntoo cold,
\nbetter spent
\nalone.
\nIf one hit will rock your
\nworld
\nand leave it spinning
\nor leave you begging for more.
\nKids, don’t be so ready to find a
\nlove
\nTo lose your parents’ trust
\nLet your grades plummet
\nDon’t give up
\nbecause once will never be enough
\nand just when you think you’re done
\nyour past pops right back up
\nin your face
\nand your drawn toward it
\nagain
\nYour stuck
\nbetween wheat you love
