\nlies that lay
\ndown
\nwith her
\nbefore bed
\nand wake
\nwith her
\nevery day.<\/p>\n

Did you
\nremember
\nwhat she said?
\nThe words she blew across the room
\nhopefully
\nsomething
\nshe said
\nlanded
\non your
\nskin
\nor
\ngot under it.<\/p>\n

Maybe
\nthe way
\nshe took
\ntime to
\nbreak
\nwords
\napart
\nor the tears that
\nmight
\nhave slipped
\nwhen she
\ntold
\nyou about
\nher past, or what
\nshe hoped
\nfor in the future
\nor the shit
\nshe deals with now.<\/p>\n

And who is she to hope
\nthat telling you
\nwhat
\nshe feels
\nin
\nencrypted lines
\nwill make a difference?<\/p>\n

Why should you
\nbe the judge
\nof a new poet
\nstanding in front of what might as well be an
\nempty room?<\/p>\n

I guess
\nit doesn\u2019t matter
\nbecause it is up to you.<\/p>\n

Are you
\ngonna give this poet
\nwhat she needs?
\nTo breathe easy,
\nto plant new seeds?<\/p>\n

Or are you planning to pass her off?<\/p>\n

New poet
