Hey dad! How are you?
\nI miss and love you a lot.
\nWell I miss what I can
\nbarely remember
\nI see a profile that…
\nlooks something like mine
\nBut that’s not much.
\nYou were here
\nnow you’re gone.
\nWhere were you when,
\nI needed you?
\nYou were supposed to teach
\nme things that my mother
\ncouldn’t. Don’t get me wrong,
\nBut there’s just some things my
\nmom can’t comprehend
\nas a woman. Like the
\nway a man is supposed
\nto treat me. Or how to
\nbe tough when my backs
\nagainst the wall. When
\nI needed you the most
\nyou weren’t there for me.
\nI used to yearn for your
\npresence, now I just accept
\nthe fact that you didn’t
\nwant me. That spark of hope
\nI had for you, will always
\nhold a tiny place in my
\nheart. I mean you are my
\ndad, and I still wish you were
\nbrave enough to have ME,
\nI said ME as your daughter,
\nyour child, your baby girl.
\nI wish you were brave enough
\nto stick around, to see ME
\nI said ME grow into a
\nBEAUTIFUL young lady.
\nWhat can I say though?
\nIt’s your loss not mine
\nyou’re the one who missed
\nout on what could’ve been
\nthe best years of your life.
