\nShe leaps through the air,
\nTen feet back.
\nHeart attack.
\n\u201cMOUSE! THERE\u2019S A MOUSE IN MY HOUSE!\u201d<\/p>\n

Little feet skitter across the floor.
\nBeady eyes look,
\nSearching for something more.
\nHarmless, it looks.
\nWell, at least to me.<\/p>\n

Little mouse,
\nCaged in the wall.
\nWhy won\u2019t you set yourself free?
\nThe air in here is suffocating.
\nThe people are lazy and boring.<\/p>\n

Yet when you come out,
\nYour eyes always
\nSearch, search, search
\nWhat are you looking for,
\nLittle mouse?<\/p>\n

Why search my humble home,
\nWhere the air is dry as a bone,
\nWhere my mom hides lurking in the shadows,
\nWhere my siblings hide poison beneath the sink?<\/p>\n

Are you lonely, little mouse?
\nAre you scouting for a humble house,
\nA place to call home,
\nWhere you no longer feel alone?
\nWhy not out in the world, little mouse?<\/p>\n

I feel so trapped in this house.
\nWalls, walls
\nClosing in.
\nSometimes I feel like giving in
\nTo the madness of being caged.<\/p>\n

Little mouse, between my mittens,
\nEscape!
\nBe fr\u2013
\nOh no,
