{"id":528,"date":"2012-03-26T13:40:29","date_gmt":"2012-03-26T17:40:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/exclusiveink\/?p=528"},"modified":"2012-03-26T13:41:07","modified_gmt":"2012-03-26T17:41:07","slug":"i-have-seen-i-have-been-scared","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/exclusiveink\/2012\/03\/26\/i-have-seen-i-have-been-scared\/","title":{"rendered":"I HAVE SEEN&#8230;I HAVE BEEN SCARED"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/exclusiveink\/tag\/daezy\/\">DAEZY<\/a><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>I was five years old<br \/>\nan innocent, harmless child,<br \/>\nnot a care in my world,<br \/>\nmy universe.<\/p>\n<p>My grandmothers were rocks,<br \/>\none great, one mother.<br \/>\nThey gave me the confidence to<br \/>\nnot feel like an alien<br \/>\n(not of this world).<\/p>\n<p>The one great?<br \/>\nShe\u2019s gone\u2026<br \/>\nGone like a toy you\u2019ll never find,<br \/>\na puzzle piece dumped in the garbage.<\/p>\n<p>The worst part?<br \/>\nI remember the morning.<br \/>\nWhy?<br \/>\nBecause I was right next to her,<br \/>\nblissfully sleeping and oblivious.<\/p>\n<p>That night\u2026<br \/>\nThat night\u2026<br \/>\nI saw the face of death.<br \/>\nAnd he\u2019s\u2026he\u2019s not a skeleton.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s not even a <em>he.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Wings so white, they shine like the heavens,<br \/>\na cloak of white, gliding beneath its feet.<br \/>\nBut its face\u2026<br \/>\nToo cruelly beautiful to describe,<br \/>\ntoo absently horrid to remember.<\/p>\n<p>I have seen the face of God,<br \/>\nnot man,<br \/>\nnot woman,<br \/>\nbut all perfection and glory (intimidating).<\/p>\n<p>War.<br \/>\nI have seen war.<br \/>\nI\u2019m sure it was a dream, but<br \/>\nit seemed too real\u2026<\/p>\n<p>angels fighting for her soul,<br \/>\ndemons dragging her down,<br \/>\nthe devil\u2019s arms around me, telling me,<br \/>\n\u201cSo, so pure.
