{"id":4778,"date":"2015-09-21T11:45:08","date_gmt":"2015-09-21T15:45:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/?p=4778"},"modified":"2015-09-17T13:10:19","modified_gmt":"2015-09-17T17:10:19","slug":"sports-condition-and-resistance-training-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/uncategorized\/sports-condition-and-resistance-training-course\/","title":{"rendered":"Sports Condition and Resistance Training Course"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><u>Healthy Horizons, the College of Education, and the HRC<\/u><\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Healthy Horizons has partnered with Brandon Cole, a faculty member in the College of Education who instructs the <strong><u>Sports Conditioning &amp; Resistance Training <\/u><\/strong>course for COE students.\u00a0 This course teaches students how to develop sport and fitness programs with an emphasis on individualized resistance training and conditioning specific to your sport.\u00a0 This program is ideal if you are getting started with a strength training program or you want to fine tune your current program.<\/p>\n<p>Under the supervision of Brandon Cole, you will be paired up with a student trainer from the Sport Conditioning &amp; Resistance Training course , receive a Baseline Fitness assessment, and 5 weeks of complimentary personalized training. If you are interested in this opportunity, you will need to commit to meeting with the student trainer on the following dates during one of the time frames listed.\u00a0\u00a0 Please note, if you plan to participate we will need to obtain a medical release from your primary care physician.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Dates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Healthy Horizons Appointment: to be completed before October 14<sup>th <\/sup>(the short, 15 minute initial assessments will be schedule Tuesday, Oct. 6 and Tuesday, Oct. 13<sup>th<\/sup> between 1:00 and 7:00pm in Healthy Horizons)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This 20 minute appointment will include a blood pressure, weight, BMI and body composition assessment.<\/li>\n<li>A consent form and medical disclosure form will be sent to you prior to your appointment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Weekly Personal Training<\/strong> appointments will take place on either Tuesday or Thursday from 8:10-9:10am .\u00a0 You can select either Tuesday or Thursday as your training day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>:\u00a0 Butler HRC<\/p>\n<p><strong>November Dates:<\/strong><br \/>\nTuesday 3rd \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thursday 5<sup>th<br \/>\n<\/sup>Tuesday 10<sup>th\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/sup>Thursday 12<sup>th<br \/>\n<\/sup>Tuesday 17<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thursday 19<sup>th<br \/>\n<\/sup><strong>December Dates:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Tuesday 1st\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thursday 3<sup>rd<br \/>\n<\/sup>Tuesday 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thursday 10<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>After your Baseline Fitness Assessment, the student will develop a 5-week physical activity plan customized to your goals.
