{"id":5966,"date":"2016-10-31T08:00:40","date_gmt":"2016-10-31T12:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/?p=5966"},"modified":"2016-10-26T14:57:24","modified_gmt":"2016-10-26T18:57:24","slug":"halloween-safety-tips-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/uncategorized\/halloween-safety-tips-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Halloween Safety TIps"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5967 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/files\/2016\/10\/trick-or-treat.png\" alt=\"trick or treat\" width=\"321\" height=\"213\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>Follow These Ghoulishly Good Best Practices<\/h2>\n<p>To help ensure adults and children have a safe holiday, the American Academy of Pediatrics has compiled a list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aap.org\/en-us\/about-the-aap\/aap-press-room\/news-features-and-safety-tips\/Pages\/Halloween-Safety-Tips.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Halloween Safety Tips<\/a>, including do&#8217;s and don&#8217;ts on the trick-or-treat trail:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A parent or responsible adult should always accompany young children on the neighborhood rounds<\/li>\n<li>If your older children are going alone, plan and review the route that is acceptable to you<\/li>\n<li>Agree on a specific time when children should return home<\/li>\n<li>Only go to homes with a porch light on and never enter a home or car for a treat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Children and adults are reminded to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsc.org\/learn\/safety-knowledge\/Pages\/back-to-school-safety-tips.aspx\" class=\"broken_link\">put electronic devices down, keep heads up and walk, don&#8217;t run, across the street<\/a>.
