Cara Fast, manager at the Riley Safety Store, has some recommendations for keeping safe on the snow.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Always sit facing forward to decrease the risk of a serious\u00a0head injury. Consider a winter sports helmet.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the sled is in good working condition.<\/li>\n<li>Dress properly for cold weather. Avoid scarves or other clothing that may get caught.<\/li>\n<li>Use a hill that is not too steep and has a long flat area at the bottom to glide to a stop.
