One simple way to eat healthier may be to simply be mindful when eating.<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">1<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>And guess what, mindful eating doesn\u2019t mean dieting or restrictions. It\u2019s about taking a moment to take it in. There are a lot of methods out there, but we\u2019ve simplified it for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ponder:<\/strong> Before you eat, ask yourself, \u201cAm I really hungry?\u201d Sometimes we think we\u2019re hungry when we\u2019re actually thirsty or bored or stressed.<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">2<\/span><\/sup> Check in, do you need nourishment in the form of food or do you need something else?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Appraise:<\/strong> When your food is in front of you, take a moment.\u00a0 How does it look? How does it smell? Do you really want it? Is it more than you need?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Slow:<\/strong> Slow down, like waaay down. Put your fork down between bites. Really chew your food and taste it. Slowing down helps your brain catch up with your stomach.<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">3<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>Savor:<\/strong> Really enjoy your food. How does the texture feel in your mouth? What are all the complex flavors you can taste? Take a moment to savor the satisfaction of each bite.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stop:<\/strong> Stop when you\u2019re full. Sounds so obvious, right? But hey, cleaning your plate isn\u2019t necessary.
