{"id":7956,"date":"2018-10-29T10:45:43","date_gmt":"2018-10-29T14:45:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/?p=7956"},"modified":"2018-10-29T10:17:12","modified_gmt":"2018-10-29T14:17:12","slug":"mobile-mammography-here-this-week-appointments-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/community-events\/mobile-mammography-here-this-week-appointments-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Mobile Mammography Here This Week &#8211; Appointments Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7937 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/files\/2018\/10\/mammo-van.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"185\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The St. Vincent Indianapolis Mobile Screening Program is pleased to partner with <strong>BUTLER UNIVERSITY\u00a0<\/strong>to offer you an on-site screening mammogram on the following dates:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31 &amp; NOVEMBER 1, \u00a02018 &#8211; We have much availability Thursday, November 1st and need more to respond or cancellation for that date may occur.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>8 AM \u2013 2 PM\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We now offer Digital Tomosynthesis or 3-D mammograms on the mobile unit as part of our standard of\u00a0care. Digital Tomosynthesis is an advanced form of mammography that creates a 3-dimensional picture\u00a0or a high resolution mammographic image of your breast tissue. Most health insurance providers cover\u00a0all costs associated with 3D mammograms. Please consult with your health insurance provider to\u00a0\u00a0determine if the cost for the 3D \u2013 Digital Tomosynthesis is fully covered. You may request a\u00a02D-mammogram if the costs are not covered by your health insurance provider.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Participation Information:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please review this information letter and the screening guidelines to determine if you are eligible to participate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are eligible, please call the St. Vincent Breast Center at <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>(317) 338-9595<\/strong><\/span> to schedule your appointment. When calling, please inform the operator that you are calling from <strong>Butler University <\/strong>to schedule an appointment on the mobile unit. We no longer require pre-registration paperwork for an appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>REGISTRATION DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 24 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Appointment Information:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Screening appointments typically last for 20 minutes. It\u2019s important for you to be on time for your appointment. If you are 10 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled.<\/li>\n<li>You must bring your health insurance card(s) and driver\u2019s license or photo ID with you to your mammogram appointment. If your health insurance information is electronic, please bring a paper copy of your information with you to your appointment.<\/li>\n<li>Please wear a two-piece outfit.<\/li>\n<li>If you are wearing deodorant at the time of your appointment, you will be asked to wipe it off. Deodorant distorts the images\/x-rays. Fresh deodorant will be provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>You are <u>NOT<\/u> eligible for a screening mammogram if:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are not asymptomatic (please see below for more details);<\/li>\n<li>You are pregnant;<\/li>\n<li>You are a nursing mother (breastfeeding must have stopped completely at least 3 months prior);<\/li>\n<li>You have had follow-up recommendations after a previous mammogram, but never completed\u00a0 the follow-up recommendations;<\/li>\n<li>You have had your last screening mammogram less than 11 months ago;<\/li>\n<li>You are between the ages of 31-39 with no history of breast cancer in your immediate family &amp; no doctor\u2019s referral\/order;<\/li>\n<li>You are age 30 or younger;<\/li>\n<li>You have had a mastectomy or lumpectomy for breast cancer and are less than five years from the original diagnosis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many health insurance providers or employers will cover the costs for mammograms annually; however, you must meet all screening guidelines to be eligible. This includes the length of time in between mammogram screenings (i.e. 11 months + 1 day).<\/p>\n<p>Screening mammograms are intended for women without symptoms of breast disease.
