{"id":9069,"date":"2019-10-29T08:30:50","date_gmt":"2019-10-29T12:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/?p=9069"},"modified":"2019-10-24T13:19:27","modified_gmt":"2019-10-24T17:19:27","slug":"cauliflower-pizza-crust-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/meatless-monday\/cauliflower-pizza-crust-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Cauliflower Pizza Crust"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cauliflower Pizza Crust<\/p>\n<p>Try this healthy take on pizza crust and top it with your favorite (meatless) toppings for an easy Meatless Monday meal!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9072\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/healthyhorizons\/files\/2019\/10\/Pizza.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"205\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup cauliflower, riced and cooked<\/li>\n<li>1 egg, beaten<\/li>\n<li>1 cup shredded cheese<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp crushed garlic<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp oregano<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp garlic salt<\/li>\n<li>Olive oil (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instructions:<\/p>\n<p>Grind the cauliflower in the food processor. \u00a0You can also use a cheese grater if you don&#8217;t have a food processor. \u00a0Place the riced cauliflower in a microwave safe bowl and add \u00a0about 1\/4 cup water. Microwave the cauliflower for about 6-8 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Once the cauliflower is cooked, be sure to squeeze out any excess water by wringing the cauliflower out in a towel. The drier the cauliflower, the more &#8220;crust-like&#8221; your cauliflower pizza crust will turn out. In a bowl, add the cauliflower, cheese, and egg and stir together.\u00a0\u00a0Add the oregano, garlic, and garlic salt. Transfer to the cookie sheet, and shape into a 9-inch circle. You can also brush the crust with olive oil to help it brown in the oven.\u00a0Bake at 450 degrees for 15-25 minutes, until the crust is browned and cooked through the middle.<\/p>\n<p>Remove the crust from the oven and top with your favorite pizza toppings. Pop the pizza back in the oven for about 5 minutes under the broiler to melt the cheese.
