Being small affords us a more personal experience with our members, as well as providing many leadership opportunities.<\/p>\n<h2>How do I join Hillel?<\/h2>\n<p>We welcome anyone and everyone who wants to get involved or are interested in\u00a0attending events. Check us out on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/butlerhillel\">Facebook <\/a>or follow us on <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/buhillel\">Twitter<\/a>.\u00a0 To join our Hillel listserv for weekly updates and reminders, send an e-mail to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:buhillel@butler.edu\">buhillel@butler.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>How religious do I have to be to be in Hillel?<\/h2>\n<p>As religious as you want to be!\u00a0 Our relgious services and celebrations are informal and inclusive &#8211;\u00a0we welcome anyone and everyone! If you want to attend services at a synagogue nearby, please contact our VP of Religious Affairs with your request. Students attend High holiday services together at local synagogues, and transportation is provided.\u00a0 We celebrate Sukkot in our beautiful sukkah in the middle of campus, providing fun activities throughout the week.\u00a0 Our Pesach seder is held on campus annually.\u00a0 We can arrange for home hospitality with a local family for any occasion.<\/p>\n<h2>What kinds of activities does Hillel do throughout the year?<\/h2>\n<p>We are a social bunch!\u00a0 On-going activities include monthly Shabbat\u00a0services and dinner,\u00a0Sukkot celebrations such as &#8220;Pizza in the Hut&#8221; and &#8220;Hookah in the Sukkah&#8221;,\u00a0bagel brunches,\u00a0and an annual Pesach seder.\u00a0 Past events include\u00a0bowling, Pacers game outings, game nights, challah baking and much, much\u00a0more! We like to engage in\u00a0social action as a group.\u00a0 Some past initiatives have included cooking and serving meals for\u00a0the women of &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dressforsuccess.org\/\">Dress for Success<\/a>&#8220;,\u00a0coordinating and hosting a\u00a0Gift of Life Bone Marrow Registry on campus and in the Jewish community, raising funds for various not-for-profit organizations, and volunteering at a local food bank. To check out\u00a0upcoming opportunities to participate,\u00a0 please visit our <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/hillel\/calendar-and-events\/\">Calendar and Events<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<h2>How do I get involved in Hillel at BU?<\/h2>\n<p>The easiest thing to do is to come to any event.\u00a0 We have weekly\u00a0meetings which are held\u00a0on Mondays at 7:30 pm at the Center of Faith and Vocation (&#8220;The Blue House&#8221;).\u00a0 Also, feel free to contact any of the\u00a0board member who are always happy to help you find a way to get involved!<\/p>\n<h2>Does BU Hillel have their own building?<\/h2>\n<p>Most of our events and meetings are held in the Center for Faith and Vocation, aka &#8220;The Blue House&#8221;. We share this\u00a0space with other religious organizations on campus. This has allowed us to take advantage of a unique opportunity to interact\u00a0with students\u00a0from\u00a0various spiritual and religious traditions.<\/p>\n<p>The Blue House is located on 4615 Sunset Avenue.\u00a0 Please <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/hillel\/contact-us\/\">contact us<\/a> if you are interested in stopping by during orientation or campus visit.<\/p>\n<h2>I&#8217;m thinking of attending Butler.
