Stress Less Week 2015: Check Out These Events

Hello everyone!  Finals week is quickly approaching and I know how stressful it can be!  However, there are some great events going on to help you unwind and come back to your studies refreshed and focused!  Here are a few — check them out!

 

Tuesday, April 21

 

Doodle @ Dinner

4:30-7:30 PM (The Market Place @ Atherton)

Coloring during dinner isn’t just for kids! Come Doodle @ Dinner! Crayons and paper table coverings will be provided in The Market Place @ Atherton!

Art NOW

5-7 PM (Reilly Room)

Stroll through a giant showcase of artwork created by Butler students! Includes drawing, painting, sculpture, 3d printed objects and interactive works.

 

Meditation at the Blue House

7 – 8PM (Center for Faith and Vocation)

Take a little quiet time in your life. Press the pause button on your day with the practice of meditation. First timers or those with experience are invited  to experience the benefits of a quiet and calm mind.

 

Ssssh Quiet Study Time at the Blue House

7-10PM (Center for Faith and Vocation)

Enjoy quiet study time or group work from the comfort of The Blue House! Snacks provided!

 

Stress Release Yoga

7:10-8:10 PM (HRC Studio)

Explore postures and breathing techniques for reducing stress, increasing flexibility, and improving circulation and nerve functions. Comfort is the key through using non-aggressive movements.

Wednesday, April 22

 

Chair Massages

10AM – 12PM (HRC 154)

Enjoy a chair massage from a professional masseuse!  While you wait, enjoy a cup of calming tea or flavor infused water and participate in a stress reducing art activity.

 

Aromatherapy Bar

10AM-12PM (HRC Lobby)

Unwind in the relaxing room, enjoy a calming cup of tea or flavored water and treat yourself with a sampling of scents from an aromatherapy bar.

 

Ask the Dietitian

10-12 (HRC Lobby)

Got questions about fueling your body for success and overall wellness? Get answers from Butler’s in-house dietitian.  Grab a treat and activity card to help practice mindful eating while you’re there!

 

Color Your Stress Away

11AM-2PM (HRC 121)

Research shows that coloring is a very soothing activity and can help reduce stress. Stop by HRC 121 to color with some counselors!

 

Manage Your Stress Workshop

4-5 PM (Jordan Hall 201)

Don’t let stress get the best of you! Learn tips and tricks to help you get through finals week.

Thursday, April 23

Friday, April 24

Game Night

4:30-7:30PM (Atherton Marketplace)

Yahtzee! Triple word score! JENGAAAA! Relieve some of that stress with some friendly competition at our Game Night in Atherton. Bring your friends to see who will be Game Night Champion!

Open High Ropes Challenge Course In The Dark

9PM-12:30AM (High Ropes Course)

Chill out, release some stress and climb on a ropes course 38 ft off the ground that will be illuminated with glow sticks and tiki torches! Wear close toed shoes and enjoy challenging your mind and body.

Monday, April 27

 

Slam Dunk Semester

6PM-7PM (Starbucks Patio)

Struggling to get through the semester? Need some motivation? Stop by Starbucks to get some motivational tips so you can finish the semester with a slam dunk!
