{"id":73,"date":"2015-11-10T14:18:18","date_gmt":"2015-11-10T19:18:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/lightboard\/?page_id=73"},"modified":"2022-04-08T14:27:22","modified_gmt":"2022-04-08T18:27:22","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/lightboard\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>What is Lightboard?<\/h4>\n<p>INNOVATION and ENGAGEMENT motivate a team of BU faculty and staff in developing our own Lightboard Studio.\u00a0Utilizing the funds awarded from the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/lightboard\/innovation-fund\/\">Innovation Grant<\/a>, the Lightboard Studio was installed in Irwin Library in February 2016.<\/p>\n<p>This innovative technology offers a way to create videos that complement online or hybrid learning models as well as\u00a0the \u201cflipped\u201d classroom model.\u00a0It consists of a glass surface that works like a white board that is positioned between\u00a0the instructor and the camera.<\/p>\n<p>Butler faculty use of the Lightboard.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"padding: 0px; border: 1px solid #464646;\" src=\"https:\/\/butler.hosted.panopto.com\/Panopto\/Pages\/Embed.aspx?id=8d3ba13d-49ac-463f-9c94-cf1711b4584c&amp;v=1\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nThis set-up allows the instructor to face the camera while also writing on the transparent surface. Instructors can then\u00a0illustrate complex concepts, formulas, diagrams or processes. It\u2019s also possible to integrate a PowerPoint on the\u00a0Lightboard for annotation.
