\nThe Center for Academic Technology was awarded a 2015 Innovation Fund grant\u00a0for the
\nPromotion of eLearning through the Creation of a Lightboard Studio.\u00a0Jeana Rogers and
\nHeather Hazelwood (Center for Academic Technology) are the project leads. \u00a0Larry Darling,
\nInformation Systems Analyst from IT along with student workers will build the Lighboard.
\nThe Information Commons will assist staff from the Center for Academic Technology in
\nmanaging the Lightboard Studio.<\/p>\nThe Future of eLearning at Butler & How to Get There with a Lightboard.<\/strong><\/h4>\n
\neven more engaging, we propose the creation of a new kind of video production
\nspace – a Lightboard Studio. With the growing number of eLearning courses at Butler, an
\nInnovation Fund Grant would allow the Center for Academic Technology (CAT) to build a
\nLightboard Studio in the basement of Irwin Library (Room 006) to enhance the eLearning
\nefforts at Butler. The Lightboard, developed in 2013 by Michael Peshkin of Northwestern<\/a>
\n University<\/a>\u00a0allows the user to face the camera and write on a glass\u00a0board and annotate images
\nor PowerPoint slides, or demonstrate physical concepts, just as\u00a0you would in the
\nface-to-face classroom. Moreover, users do not have to learn to write\u00a0backwards, the
\ntechnology flips the image! This proposed space will also be flexible enough\u00a0to be a video
\nproduction studio that could create high quality videos using a green screen.\u00a0Currently there is
\nno facility on campus where the Butler community can go to produce high
\nquality video for eLearning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
