How do I find out who the advisor is for a student?

Enrollment support personnel who have been granted the appropriate access can find the advisor for a given student by following these steps.

  1. Login in to My.Butler and select arrow Records and Enrollment arrow Student Background Information arrow Student Advisor.
  2. In the search screen that appears, enter the student’s ID number (if known) or search for the student by entering their last and first names in the appropriate text boxes.
  3. The Student Advisor page appears. The advisor’s name appears next to the Academic Advisor text box.

Advisors who are advising a walk-in student can find who the student’s advisor of record is by following these steps.

  1. Login in to My.Butler and select arrow Self Service arrow Advisor Center arrow My Advisees.
  2. Click the View data for other students button button, visible at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Enter the student’s 9-digit ID -OR- click the magnifying glass icon button to search for the student by name.

    Tip: when searching, enter only the first 3-4 letters of the last name and the first letter of the first name. Add more letters to narrow the search results, if needed.

  4. The Advisee Student Center appears. The student’s advisor of record will be displayed in the right, shaded column block that’s labeled Advisor.
