How do I hire a student using eHire?

  1. Login to My.Butler.
  2. From the main menu, click on Manager Self Service arrow Job and Personal Information arrow eHire Form.
  3. The Hires to Process form appears. Click on the magnifying glass icon next to the “Select Template” form field.
  4. Click on the Student Hourly template to select it, then click the continue button button.
  5. On the Enter Employee Information form that appears, the following fields are required information.
    • Position number: This is typically a four-digit number. Enter four zeroes before the four digits.
    • Supervisor ID: Use the magnifying glass to the right of the field to look up the supervisor. In the search window that appears, change the search settings to “last name” and then type in the name and click
    • Hourly pay rate: Enter the student’s pay rate. (Note that the current minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.)
    • Combination code: This is the budget being used to pay a student. Enter your five-digit department code, then click the magnifying glass icon to review the list of budget item choices for your department.
  6. Once you’ve completed all required fields, you can click the Save and Submit button at the bottom of the form. You’ll receive an on-screen confirmation message if your submission is successful.
