When enrolling a student in a class—and that class is full—you can opt to put the student on the waitlist.
Tip: It’s a good idea to check with the academic department that holds the class to make sure they want the waitlist used.
To put a student on a class waitlist (if already enrolling the student – go to step 3):
- Login and click BU Campus Solutions BU Advisor Access Use >>> Enrollment Request.
- Enter the student’s 9-digit ID -OR- click the button to search by name. Make sure the Academic Career, Academic Institution (BUTLR), and Term are correct and click the Add button.
- Enter the 4-digit Class Nbr in the Class Nbr field and press the Tab key —OR— Click the lookup button to search for a class. (see How do I search for a class?)Important: To enter a lab, if needed, click the lookup button for the Related Class 1 field and choose a lab. If nothing is listed, you do not need to enter a lab for this class.
- Click on the Class Overridestab, then check the box under the “Wait List Okay” column for the desired row.
- Click the Submit button and check the Status on the Class Enrollment tab.If Status = Success – continue to step 6.
If Status = Errors – you have an error. Click the Errors link and take the appropriate steps. (i.e. Change the class number and post again; put in the lab that you forgot; delete the empty row; etc.)
- To add more classes, click the ‘Add Row’ button and go back to step 3 above to add another class.
Continue steps 3 – 5 until you finish registering the student.Tip: When you are finished, click the Study List link in the lower left corner to print the student’s schedule.Tip: If you get this message:
It means you’ve clicked the button at least one too many times and you have an empty Class Nbr field – you need to get rid of any empty row(s) before posting.
Click the and delete the row(s) with the empty Class Nbr field.
