Term codes help to precisely identify the semesters. At Butler, these codes start out with a 4. The middle two digits indicate the academic year\u2014in other words, the year in which the fall semester began. The last digit indicates the specific semester. (1=fall semester; 3=spring semester; 6=summer I; 7=summer II)<\/p>\n<p>For example, The fall, 20<strong>12<\/strong>\u00a0semester would be identified by the term code 4<strong>12<\/strong>1. The spring, 2013 semester would be term code 4<strong>12<\/strong>3.<\/p>\n<p>Many functions available through<em> My.Butler <\/em>no longer require you to enter the four-digit term code. Instead, you can select from lists or drop downs that are labeled with the text description of the semester. However, you may still need to enter a term code for some functions in <em>My.Butler<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>However, you can still set your term code default by visiting your preferences page<strong><\/strong>.
