Shortly before advising starts for a new semester, an ‘Advising Hold’ is placed on all students (with a few exceptions). This hold is designed to ensure advisor-student communication; it can only be removed by the student’s advisor, and will prevent the student from registering until it is removed. Follow the steps below to remove the ‘Advising Hold.’<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong>\u00a0A ‘hold’ is synonymous with a ‘negative service indicator.’<\/p>\n

  1. Login<\/a> and click \"arrow\"<\/a>\u00a0Self Service \"arrow\"<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Advisor Center \"arrow\"<\/a>\u00a0My Advisees <\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Click the View Student Details<\/em> link to the right of the desired advisee. You can also click the \"View<\/a>\u00a0button and search for another student.<\/li>\n
  3. Click on the General Info<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n
  4. Under the Service Indicators heading, click the \"Edit<\/a>\u00a0button.<\/li>\n
  5. The Manage Service Indicators<\/strong> page appears. Click on the Code<\/em> link to the left of the Meet with Advisor<\/em> service indicator.<\/li>\n
  6.
