After the fifth day of classes, students need approval from the class instructor, their primary advisor, and their college dean to add a class.\u00a0Students can now request these approvals through the self-service functions in My.Butler. <\/em>By following the steps listed below, your\u00a0request will be electronically routed to the appropriate individuals\u00a0for approval.<\/p>\n

You will receive \u201cstatus update\u201d emails as the request moves through the approval process and you will receive a final email when the request is either approved or denied.\u00a0You will NOT be enrolled in the class until final approval is received from the college dean.<\/p>\n

  1. Login<\/a> and click Self Service<\/strong> > Student Center<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Click on the Enrollment Shopping Cart <\/em>link.<\/li>\n
  3. Select the class you would like to enroll in by using one of the options under Add to Cart<\/em>.

    \nNote:<\/strong> You can add classes by directly entering the class number, by searching, by selecting from your degree requirements, or by adding them from your planner. See     How do I add classes to my shopping cart?<\/a> for more information.<\/li>\n
  4. Select your desired class by clicking the \"Select\u00a0button. This will return you to the Shopping Cart<\/strong> page, and your selected class will appear in your Enrollment Shopping Cart<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  5. Check mark the class you want to enroll in and then click on the \"enroll\"\u00a0button.<\/li>\n
  6. The Co<\/strong>nfirm Classes<\/strong> screen appears. Verify that the classes are correct, then click the \"finish\u00a0button.<\/li>\n
  7. You will receive a message asking if you want to send an approval request to the class instructor, your advisor, and your college dean.\u00a0 Click \u201cOK\u201d.<\/li>\n
  8. Check the \u201cRequest Approval\u201d checkbox associated with the class.<\/li>\n
  9. Provide an explanation in the \u201cStudent Comment\u201d box of why you need to add the class after the deadline, and then click \u201cSubmit\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
