Advanced Editor usage<\/h1>\n

Log in and click the edit icon<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Select the \u2018More\u2019 option on the left side of the screen<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n


\nSelect \u2018Open in advanced editor\u2019<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This will open the advanced editor – please note that to take advantage of the extra features in the advanced editor you will need to have the Silverlight browser plugin installed. \u00a0This is supported in Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer.<\/p>\n

Features<\/h2>\n

Set default thumbnail<\/p>\n

To set the thumbnail shown in the Panopto video management system, right click on the edit timeline and select \u2018Set default thumbnail\u2019<\/p>\n

Select \u2018Save\u2019 in the top right of the screen<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Modify the start time of a stream<\/p>\n

Select \u2018Streams\u2019 then \u2018Edit\u2019<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Change the start time as desired and click \u2018OK\u2019<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2018Save as\u2019 a new version<\/h3>\n

Select the \u2018Save As\u2019 option in the top right of the screen<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Name the newly created version and click ok<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

You can now make changes to the new delivery version<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Insert and Edit Captions<\/p>\n

You can manually add captions to your video in the advanced editor.<\/p>\n

Select the captions tab towards the bottom right of the screen<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Enter text to match up the dialogue in the audio track<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Press \u2018Enter\u2019 to add the caption at the desired time<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Please note – you can also use third-party services to add captions for you, and upload already created transcripts direct to the session.<\/p>\n

Other Features<\/h2>\n

Return the video to 00:00.00<\/h3>\n

Click the stop button to return the video to zero seconds<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Preview Edits<\/h3>\n

If checked, only the segments of video that are being kept will play<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Zoom into the timeline<\/h3>\n

The feature allows you to \u2018zoom in\u2019 to the timeline to achieve fine control over edits<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Revert<\/h3>\n

Click \u2018Revert\u2019 to undo all previously unsaved changes<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Add or replace a slide<\/h3>\n

You can delete or add a presentation slide in the Panopto Advanced editor.<\/p>\n

Click on the \u2018slides\u2019 area in the in the editor<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

You can edit or delete a slide by placing your cursor on the slide you wish to change<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

If you choose to edit, you can change the table of contents title, the time the slide appears, add or remove metadata or embed a web page link. You can also delete the slide from here.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

To add a new slide or deck, choose \u2018Add a presentation\u2019<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Select to add a \u2018Secondary (no audio)\u2019 source, then \u2018Browse\u2019 to find the presentation deck on you computer. Click \u2018OK\u2019 and the presentation will upload<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

You can select the individual slide you want and select \u2018Add\u2019<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Click to add the slide at the desired location in the timeline<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This will open the Event Properties box. \u00a0Add extra data here if you want, or just click \u2018OK\u2019 to add the slide<\/p>\n

The slide will be added, click save to complete the change
