It can only be installed on computers OSX\u00a0Leopard,\u00a0OSX\u00a0Snow Leopard, and OSX Lion. Your computer should also have a large amount of free drive space to capture your video\/recording.\u00a0<span class=\"print-footnote\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Mac Basic Recording<\/h2>\n<div>\n<div id=\"section_1\">\n<p>Logging In<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"section_2\">\n<p>Creators are able to log into\u00a0Panopto for Mac\u00a0with their Butler credentials and record video, audio, PowerPoint\/Keynote presentations and also add Screen Capture functionality.<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Locate the Panopto under Applications (or from the Dock, if it was placed there) and run the app.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 Click\u00a0Sign in<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aQc\" alt=\"User-added image\" width=\"500\" height=\"80\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. \u00a0If the Server box is empty enter butler.hosted.panopto.com and press ENTER.\u00a0Select Moodle from the Get Providers for Server options. Log into Moodle using your Butler credentials.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 Click\u00a0Create New Recording<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aQc\" alt=\"User-added image\" width=\"500\" height=\"80\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"section_3\">\n<h3>Adding Folders and New Sessions<\/h3>\n<p>By default, the Recorder will open up to the last known good configuration of recording devices.\u00a0 If you have recorded content before, the same devices will automatically be chosen.<\/p>\n<p>In this example, we have not recorded content before, Panopto for Mac\u00a0defaults to Offline Recording.<\/p>\n<p>To complete an Online Recording, click the down arrows as highlighted in red below, if there are folders available.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aQm\" alt=\"User-added image\" width=\"500\" height=\"109\" \/><br \/>\nChoose the appropriate folder.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aQh\" alt=\"User-added image\" width=\"500\" height=\"96\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"section_4\">\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"section_5\">\n<h3>Choosing Recording Devices<\/h3>\n<p>Whether you are recording offline or to a desired Folder, you can choose the devices that you wish to record with. These devices include web cams, video cameras, audio inputs, screen captures, PowerPoint\/Keynote and remote devices.\u00a0 To select the device you wish to use in your recording, simply check the box next to the device(s) listed within the Mac Recorder application.<\/p>\n<p>**Note:\u00a0 Audio\u00a0is required for all recordings to complete and be posted to the web.\u00a0 If recording from two separate computers, Panopto for Mac\u00a0will allow you to record with no audio or video selected, however, the session will not process until the other computer uploads the audio and\/or video to the system.\u00a0 You will receive a pop up error message if no audio\/video is selected when recording.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aQr\" alt=\"User-added image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The following sections will show how to select and record from various inputs.\u00a0 The combination of what inputs to record is chosen by the user by simply choosing what they wish to record.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"section_6\">Primary Source<\/h3>\n<p>Under Primary Source, you can choose what Audio\/Video device you would like to record. In my example I am choosing the LifeCam for both Audio and Video.<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aR1\" alt=\"User-added image\" \/><br \/>\nSlides<\/h3>\n<p>Under the Slides option, you can choose to capture PowerPoint or Keynote slides.<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aR6\" alt=\"User-added image\" \/><br \/>\nSecondary Sources<\/h3>\n<p>Within the Secondary Sources box of Panopto for Mac, you can choose to capture your screen, or an additional video source such as a webcam, document camera, etc.. Click Secondary 2 if you wish to include 2 secondary sources. You will notice that sources already selected appear greyed out.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aRL\" alt=\"User-added image\" width=\"500\" height=\"419\" \/><\/p>\n<div id=\"section_10\">\n<h5>Start Recording<\/h5>\n<p>After selecting the available inputs, begin the recording by clicking on &#8220;Record&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aRQ\" alt=\"User-added image\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"section_11\">\n<h5>Stop Recording<\/h5>\n<p>To stop recording content, switch back to Panopto\u00a0(Command +Tab), and click on &#8220;Stop&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aRV\" alt=\"User-added image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The next screen will show the status of the recordings.\u00a0 By default Panopto for Mac\u00a0will automatically upload the recorded content to the server.\u00a0 As the recording is being transferred to the server, you can preview the recording in the &#8220;Preview&#8221; area if &#8220;Audio,&#8221; &#8220;Video,&#8221; or &#8220;Screen Capture&#8221; was recorded.\u00a0 If the preview was not sufficient, you could choose to &#8220;Pause Upload&#8221; to pause the upload of the files to the server.\u00a0 The &#8220;Actions&#8221; button has two options; &#8220;Show Files&#8221; or &#8220;Delete&#8221; (will show or delete the local files in the Panopto\u00a0Recordings directory).\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/documentation\/recording\/mac-recorder\/mac-recording-status-0\" target=\"_blank\">Click here<\/a> for more detailed information on the recording status.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/support.panopto.com\/servlet\/rtaImage?eid=ka0390000000gD7&amp;feoid=00N70000003KziC&amp;refid=0EM390000000aRa\" alt=\"User-added image\" width=\"750\" height=\"602\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Panopto Recorder is very small and very easy to install.
