\"Information\"The assignment activity allows you to collect and grade work from students online.\u00a0Students can submit any file to an assignment (e.g. Word documents, spreadsheets, images, audio files, video files, etc.).<\/em><\/p>\n

  1. From your course\u2019s main page, click the\u00a0\"Turn\u00a0button in the upper-right.<\/li>\n
  2. With editing turned on, click\u00a0\"Add\u00a0in the section where you want to add the assignment.<\/li>\n
  3. From the menu that appears, click the\u00a0\"Radio\u00a0next to \"Assignment\"\u00a0and\u00a0click the\u00a0<\/span>\"Add\"\u00a0button at the bottom of the menu.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Enter an \"Assignment\u00a0and a \"Description\". The assignment name is how the assignment will be displayed on the course page, in the gradebook, etc. The description is what the students will see before they submit a paper, and is useful for providing prompts or instructions.<\/li>\n
  5. If you want to attach files directly to an assignment (e.g. reference materials, a writing prompt, a written rubric, example papers, etc.), you can drag and drop a file into the\u00a0\"Additional\u00a0area.<\/li>\n
  6. In the\u00a0\"Availability\"\u00a0section, you can specify dates for the assignment.
    \n\"Allow\u00a0lets you specify when the assignment will start taking student submissions.
    \n\"Due\u00a0lets you specify the date past which submissions will be marked late.
    \n\"Cut-off\u00a0lets you specify the date past which submissions will no longer be accepted at all.
    \nEnsure that the\u00a0\"Enable\"\u00a0checkbox is checked for any date you want to use.<\/li>\n
  7. Click the\u00a0\"Grade\"\u00a0section to expand it. Set the\u00a0\"Grade\"\u00a0drop-down to the number of points you want this assignment to be worth and specify which\u00a0\"Grade\u00a0it will go in (if any).<\/li>\n
  8. Click the\u00a0\"Save\u00a0button when done.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
