ED 241 Developmental Theory and Applications is the course that taught me the most about Educational Theorist, and the basic classroom applications of their theories.
Once the course had covered all the major Theorist, my class was split into small groups, and each group gave a presentation on a Theorist. My presentation was about Jean Piaget.
Theorist Presentation:
After the Theorist Presentation, we were asked to analyze a form of visual media. This analysis had to include all the different educational methods and approaches to education. We also had to include which the media incorporated the different educational theories/Theorists into the show.
Media Analysis Presentation:
At the end of the course, I had to write two case studies about two students, one was elementary aged the other middle/secondary. In the case studies I stated where the student was at in their developmental journey. Whether they were still egocentric, or whether the students are transitioning between Kohlberg’s stages of moral development. I made the observations based on behavioral and academic evidence provided to me.
