This lesson<\/a> is related to the novel Just Ella <\/i>by Margaret Peterson Haddix, which was mentioned in the “Definition” portion on this site.\u00a0 <\/span>You will find about 20 discussion questions along with a book summary.\u00a0 This <\/span>lesson plan is meant for late elementary school (grades 4-6) and early middle <\/span>school (grades 6-7).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This next lesson<\/a> is related to the first book of the Sisters Gimm series,\u00a0The Fairy-Tale Detectives<\/em><\/a>, by Michael Buckley.\u00a0 In this novel two sisters, Sabrina and Daphne, are unraveling the mystery behind a loose giant in the town of Ferryport Landing.\u00a0 This book and discussion questions is meant for late elementary students.\u00a0 Another lesson<\/a> for this book involves writing and dessigning the town of Ferryport Landing.<\/span><\/p>\n

This lesson<\/a> has to do with Ella Enchanted<\/a>, a novel by Gail Carson Levine.\u00a0 In this novel Ella his been gifted, though she considers herself cursed, with having to obey any order given to her.\u00a0 This novel and lesson is suitable for thid to fifth graders and includes a full lesson plan that will allow them to to identify\u00a0elements of fairy tales and write thier own.<\/span><\/p>\n

This lesson<\/a>\u00a0has to do with the book Beware of the Storybook Wolves<\/em><\/a> by Lauren Child.\u00a0 In this book a child Herb accidentally left his Red-Riding Book open and two wolves have escaped from his book. \u00a0This book and subsequent lesson plan can be used for kindergarteners to\u00a0second graders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This lesson<\/a> does not have to do with a book, but with the sub-genre of fractured-fairy tales.\u00a0 This lesson plan has mid-to-late elementary students analyzing fairy tales and creating their own tale.<\/span><\/p>\n

This lesson<\/a> is meant for early elementary students.\u00a0 Students will create their own storybook and will work with others.<\/span><\/p>\n
