OUT OF A FAMILY
by BRION
Out of a boy, I pulled out a teenager
Out of a teenager, I pulled out a couple
Out of a couple, I pulled out a prom
Out of a prom, I pulled out a son
Out of a son, I got pulled out of college
Out of my failure, I pulled out a marriage
Out of a marriage, I pulled out a daughter
Out of a daughter, I pulled out some food stamps
Out of food stamps, I pulled out stability
Out of stability, I pulled out a son
Out of a son, I pulled out an argument
Out of an argument, I pulled a divorce
Out of a divorce, I pulled a resentful son
Out of a resentful son, I pulled out my connection with my kids
Out of my connections, I pulled a hamstring
Out of my hamstring, I pulled my heart
Out of my heart, I pulled out my death
Out of my death, I pulled out bitterness
Out of my bitterness, I pulled out a ghost
Out of a ghost, I pulled out the end to this poem
