{"id":316,"date":"2017-04-03T22:47:09","date_gmt":"2017-04-04T02:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/reverberations\/?p=316"},"modified":"2017-04-03T22:47:09","modified_gmt":"2017-04-04T02:47:09","slug":"sounds-in-silent-minds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.butler.edu\/reverberations\/2017\/04\/03\/sounds-in-silent-minds\/","title":{"rendered":"SOUNDS IN SILENT MINDS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>by TYLYN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*The Sound of Silence<br \/>\nThe clear crack of broken glass cuts through the cool night.<br \/>\nIt took time for the chiming to end, though it did quit.<br \/>\nSo I rested with my mind a blank slate.<br \/>\nSo I tried giving meaning to the question that is life.<br \/>\nEven with the brightening of day, the heart remained hardened.<br \/>\nThere was crackling as a garden went down in the flames of arson.<br \/>\nI saw it as a \u201cfar sin,\u201d one that\u2019d never find me.<br \/>\nIn a cannon, there was the run of what shan\u2019t be banned, confrontation.<br \/>\nTouching the rough curls of hair on my scalp, Becky came to my thoughts.<br \/>\nShouldn\u2019t I be lost in those, still to nothingness, oh so clever, no?<br \/>\nCarmine and tangerine, amarillo y chartreuse, cobalt plus violet.<br \/>\nFeathers are at-once powdery yet shadowy, scentlessly exquisite.<br \/>\n\u2018Tis not ut a claim to frame the shame and blame it on a name game.<br \/>\nA rambling gamble, seeking jam for some column of \u201cleafdrum.\u201d<br \/>\nWhen I\u2019m gone, I bet a \u201cglassface\u201d that I\u2019ll win.<br \/>\nWhen you\u2019re gone, you should bet a \u201cblackflick\u201d that I\u2019ll win.<br \/>\nWhatever that is, so, so scatterbrained, but tamed.<br \/>\nThe ravings of a mad man really wrong, right? Partially tripping you up?
