One wrong step and Boom!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They look at me like I\u2019m a ship in the distance at night. \u201cYou will regret not going,\u201d said mom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s what all my friends say,\u201d I responded, \u201cbut who cares if I go?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour friends will,\u201d dad said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy friends barely notice me anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s not true,\u201d my mom pipes in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSadly it is.\u201d I got up from the dinner table. \u201cI am not going.\u201d I went upstairs to finish my homework.
