Today we had a lot of conversations about trees!\u00a0 I noticed yesterday that a lot of friends were looking through the tree books and asking about roots.\u00a0 “What are those?”\u00a0 “What do they do?”\u00a0 Today, with the help of white roses, we talked a little bit about roots.\u00a0 During morning meeting, we added food coloring to jars of water and put the roses in them.\u00a0 As a class we made predictions about what might happen.\u00a0 Tylisha said she had seen it before and the flowers were going to change colors!\u00a0 Some of the other friends agreed, but a few are still skeptical.\u00a0 Check back in the next few days to see what happens!<\/p>\n

Selah's tree<\/p><\/div>\n

This afternoon, we celebrated the warm day and went outside to do observational drawings of the trees.\u00a0 It was interesting to hear what the kids had to say about their noticings.\u00a0 Max noticed the bark, or as he called it “skin” on the tree.\u00a0 Wyatt noticed the buds at the end of the trees.\u00a0 Selah noticed all the different branches.\u00a0 They were so observant!<\/p>\n
