This week in both Reader’s Workshop and Math Workshop, we have introduced partners. \u00a0There is a lot of power behind having partners as you work. \u00a0It encourages conversation, collaboration, and questioning. \u00a0The kids have really enjoyed working with partners. \u00a0We asked them today why it was important and here are a few of their answers:<\/p>\n

“You are reading together and you can hear other people reading so they can help you. \u00a0If you were alone you couldn’t do that.” ~Andrew<\/p>\n

“It is important because that’s how you make a new friend. \u00a0Friends help them sound it out.” ~Carriea<\/p>\n

“They are important because you don’t have to raise your hand and wait. \u00a0You don’t have to wait or nothin’. \u00a0Your partner can help you.” ~Tylisha<\/p>\n

“Your partner is a different reader so they can help you!” ~William<\/p>\n
