We realized that there have only been so many updates on our blog so here is a link to our Facebook group we made for the project that has a lot more updates, planning, status of the project, and very minor jibber-jabber. It’s mostly business.

April Fools!
I pulled a little bit of a cruel joke today and sent a message to everyone in involved in the project that my computer had crashed and ALL of the footage and audio had been completely wiped.
there were some panic attacks and possibly a few heart-attacks that occurred but once I let them know it was an April Fool’s Day joke they seemed to calm down and have a good laugh.
Perhaps it wasn’t the best joke I could have played but I couldn’t resist having a good laugh.
Everyone involved has been a good trooper about it.

Finished Filming
Well, we did it!
This past weekend we finished our filming for the project and even had the time to finish the extended scenes for the… let’s just say Director’s Cut. We’ve started our editing and we know it’s going to be a long process–mostly due to lining up video with recorded audio–but even if we need to bring a pillow and catch a few Z’s under the desk in an editing bay, we will be finished with the movie by next week!
It’s been a long and difficult journey but we made it there.

New Title and First day of filming
The title of the film has officially been renamed to “The Final Course” – a play on words with “course” like dinner-course and “course” as in class-course.
We also had our first day of filming last Sunday and it was great! We got a great amount of scenes done. A couple of the actors didn’t get a chance to shoot their scenes but on the whole we got a great amount of the scenes finished. We will be shooting the rest of the scenes this coming friday and after that we will be editing. I see the film being done by the end of next week.

Filming starts this weekend!
We’ve gathered the cast, we’ve got the location, we’re gathering the equipment and will start filming THIS WEEKEND. We will be filming on Sunday due to everyone’s schedule but we will try to get as much as possible done on the first day! SO PSYCHED!

Tons of stuff happening
It’s been a while since my last post. A LOT has happened in the past few weeks. Casting is near in completion. We have had auditions and parts filled and there is one role left to fill. Luckily, Our current cast members have offered to help in the casting for the last role. We have a table-read this Wednesday (March 5) and will schedule our film dates that night. As of now, we will be filming right after spring break (I want to give the actors the break time to get familiar and memorize their characters and dialogue).
I have also recently been given very useful advice from a well-known film director about how to save on time. He told me to edit while we are filming. Once shooting for one night is finished, we will edit the footage we have before we have our next shoot. Whatever the rate we do our shooting, our editing will be finished extremely quickly after the wrap.
I have also already secured music for the film, all of which are either royalty-free or composed by local artists.
It was a slow start but sure enough, we are rolling this project along.

Breaking Ground
The final semester is here and it’s time for one last project. I and my associate Lisa Ruch are developing a feature length film, written by myself. The title is called “A Dinner for Seniors”; which is a coming of age dramedy about 6 graduating college seniors wanting to have an adult dinner party to celebrate their dawning of true adulthood coming.
