Conor Pardo

Conor PardoWhat was your best memory of your freshman year?

Most of my memories of freshman year are of the fun and ridiculous things I did with my new friends. Something that I’ll always remember is this one night when eight or so of us decided to walk aimlessly around campus. We ended up laying in front of the observatory, talking and laughing under the stars.

If you could give one piece of advice to an incoming student, what would it be?

On one hand, be open to new and maybe uncomfortable experiences. On the other, remain focused on your goals as a student and a developing adult. Always, always, always be willing to try something that you’ve never considered doing before, but frame that openness with the consideration for your long-term goals.

What, in your opinion, makes Butler unique?

What makes Butler unique is what you, as a student, decide to do with your time here. Butler has been unique, to me, because I have taken advantage of some of the great programs that the university has to offer. My decisions, however, might not suit the next guy. With Butler, it’s really up to each student to forge his or her own path. There are endless resources at BU to support you on your way, but it takes some “getting up” and “going and doing” to make a college experience unique, regardless of the university.
