Kate Carroll

Kate CarrollIn your opinion, what are two skills that are useful for an incoming student?

BE CONFIDENT! Don’t be afraid to meet everyone and anyone, even your professors! It will go a long way as you get older. And be open minded and willing to try new things. Butler is very accepting and a great place to learn from others and find out who you are.

If you could give one piece of advice to an incoming student, what would it be?

Enjoy every minute!! From what you’re learning in class to the AMAZING opportunities and events to the stupid, little moments with your friends. Every single moment is important and can be used in your future (even if it seems silly or hard at the time). Don’t miss out on something just because you’re nervous or lazy! Every moment will make up the BEST 4 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE! 🙂

What can an incoming student expect as they look ahead to their first year at Butler?

Some challenging times and times that you are going to have to step outside of your own box and your own thinking, for sure. But it will be a year that you grow double in your maturity, and 100% a year that you will look back on and remember. Freshman year feels like yesterday, and I am a Junior!! I can’t believe it! I definitely wish that I was a freshman again.
