Kathryn Kruse

Kathryn KruseIn your opinion, what are two skills that are useful for an incoming student?

It’s important to understand the difference between studying hard and studying effectively. When you’re in a time crunch, it pays to know how to study effectively. Also, I know I’m repeating myself, but know how to budget your time wisely.

How did Welcome Week help you transition to Butler and life away from home?

Welcome Week encouraged me to get involved, and I think that’s the easiest way to transition to college life. It was what first made me consider joining a sorority, getting involved as a volunteer at the Indiana School for the Blind, joining Butler’s equestrian team, and so much more.

What can an incoming student expect as they look ahead to their first year at Butler?

Expect to be surprised—and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re going to have experiences and grow in ways that you’ll never expect. Get excited.
